- Chapter One -

First Interaction

 I walked along the surprisingly un-popular board walk. Scuffing my converse low tops against the cold hard wood; an eerie dark feel came upon me making me pull up the sweater I had on over my shoulders. It was weird, just like any other summer night but yet no one was around. I shrugged it off and kept walking.

 I had just got off my shift working at the small coffee shop along the beach road. It was just one of the few jobs I had. Nothing special though but it made me money and I liked it.

It was just a little after nine pm. last looking at the clock set up at the end of the coffee shop though it could have been a few minutes off. It really didn't matter to me at the moment.

I finally made my way down to the end of the pier catching a glimpse of the Californian sun setting over the ocean. A chill shot down my spin making me shiver. The sight was rather breath taking. Funny though thinking about how much I had always spent my child hood wanting to run away from this hell of a place. Though now, it was like walking away from that beautiful sunset hurt more then thinking about my past. Like it though the blistering red soon faded away showing just purple and black. And the fiery of the burning ball of fire died leaving me to grow up stronger and better then what they'd say I'd be.

22 years. Had past with this day and within them I had found myself accomplishing nothing. Besides making it through high school nothing major had happened in my small self keeping life.

I looked up to the now black clear starry sky.

"Tonight" I said to myself out loud but loud enough to only be a low whisper.

"Tonight is when I start over"

I looked down into the black ocean below me and then looked up and turned around heading back to my small two person apartment I shared with my old high school friend.

It didn't take long to get home. But for my unfortunate luck the craziness had already begun.

Beer bottles filled the small kitchen and living room along with blaring music, people laughing and screaming over each other to talk filled the room.

"Good god" I mumbled. Walking in and placing my sweater over the hook by the door. Of course Johnny being Johnny he HAD to have a reason to party, if his life wasn't already a party enough. My birthday just gave him more of a reason.

"EEMILYY YOU'REE HOMMEE"

I forced a smile on my face seeing the awful state my best friend was in. And by the way he looked he was ten beers or more in.

I groaned walking past him. The rancid smell of alcohol stuck on his breath. Though he was the only best friend I had, most of my friends that where girls moved away going to collage and university after high school. It was only me and him. Him and I. Who else was going to take care of the crazy fucker?

 I walked past the people that blocked up the hall way and headed to my room. I swung open the door to my room to see a blonde chick on top of a tattooed guy on my bed.

"Johnny is so dead" I growled under my breath

"Uh are you just going to stand their and watch us or what...?" asked the guy. The chick on top of him looked at me weirdly too. I didn't know who either of them was, neither of them friends of Johnny's or friends I ever met...

"NO! GET OUT!!" I screamed.

"Ok!..."

They scattered around grabbing each their shirts and then walked out past me. I slammed the door shut and let out a loud sigh closing my eyes and trying to relax some though it was just getting harder too.

"Yeah they where getting a little... frisky their"

My eyes shot open. Who was talking to me? I walked over to my open balcony door. He sat their on the edge of it, Cigarette in hand and starring out at the open night sky.

This would be the night I had firstly interacted with him.
